Not Keeping Up
Sometimes, life gets in the way.
What I Said
I know. I kept saying that I’ve found ways to get organized and stay motivated. Aaand it worked… for the time being. I had a groove that made everything work out. The kids and I were following our schedules, housework was getting done, homeschooling was going well, and content was being produced.
Then it was like all hell broke loose.
What’s Going On
One kid is experiencing puberty and the other one is experiencing the Terrible Twos!!! Both are hormonal! One verbally lashes out, the other is physically violent, both seem to be hungry all of the time and for some reason, I’m always the bad guy!
So anyway, my mother-in-law is in town on a visit. As much as I’d like for her to experience more of a vacation than chores, it just doesn’t happen that way. For the past 2½ weeks, she’s been helping us with the kids and housework while my husband and I take care of other things outside the house, go on dates (sort of), and rest. I’ve been trying to help, but… life got in the way.
So, I’ve injured my lower back. I have no idea how it happened, but it did. The physician’s assistant and nurses were bewildered to see me in the state that I was in at such a young age. On the other hand, they were surprised to see just how stubborn I was about not needing a wheelchair during my visit. They gave me pain relievers and referred me to the imaging center where I got my X-rays done. I kid you not, no one has a clue as to how this could have happened.
For Future Reference
If you’re ever going to sit for an extended period of time, change positions every once in a while. I’m serious. Driving from Harlingen to San Antonio (with kids) took us 6 hours. It’s normally a 4-hour drive, but there were potty/diaper change stops. (Mind you, this was a day trip. We left at sunrise, had fun in San Antonio, then arrived home at midnight.) We never truly rested at those rest stops. It was: potty, gas up, go. What I should have done was stretch, bend, and walk. I cannot stress to you the importance of moving your body.

What Now?
My focus will no longer be making money on Medium. For some reason, I haven’t had the best of luck in that department. My free articles get more reads than my “members-only” articles. So now, I’ll be lifting up other businesses on all my social media platforms… except for Twitter. I’m sorry, but Elon Musk has ruined Twitter for everyone. To my friend, Burhanuddin Yousuf, I will be boosting your business via social media when I get the chance. That is a promise.
By the way, if you’d like to check out his business, head over to his Fiverr page. The link is below.
What I’ll also be doing is creating content to help others. For example, I have experience in being a mother, cooking, cleaning, dating, marriage, etc. I’m also learning the specifics of content creation. With that being said, hopefully, I can create multiple channels or outlets for these things. Let’s see how it goes.
